Schedule Estimated reading: 5 minutes The Schedule module provides a comprehensive overview of project timelines within a BIM environment. It allows users to view and analyse construction schedules, compare current progress, both financial and time-based, against the baseline plan, and gain valuable insights into task sequencing and dependencies. Users can filter tasks, apply custom colour coding, and explore detailed information for each activity. Fully accessible online, the Schedule module serves as a powerful planning and monitoring tool for both project planners and on-site construction managers. 1. Schedules imported into the CDE project can be accessed through the Schedule module2. The name of the currently active schedule is displayed in the Schedule Name field. By clicking the downward arrow, a drop-down list appears showing all schedules uploaded to the project. Selecting a schedule from the list will update the information displayed in the Gantt chart accordingly3. By selecting the Delete option, the currently active schedule will be removed from the project. A confirmation dialog will appear, allowing the user to confirm or cancel the action4. When model elements are selected in the Viewer using the Select Objects or Marquee Selection tools, the Filter by Selected Elements button becomes active (highlighted in blue). Clicking this button filters the list of schedule tasks to display only those linked to the selected elements 5. Turning the Group Tasks toggle button ON enables additional tools for grouping schedule tasks. The user can select a Template for grouping and has the option to save custom templates for future use. A new toolbar line will appear, including the Leaf Task Name field, where the user can define how the schedule should be grouped based on the names of leaf tasks. Multiple grouping options are available from the drop-down menu6. To further group schedule tasks, simply drag and drop any of the columns into the toolbar area Note The schedule consists of several activities on a different level: • Parent Task – the activity consists of several sub-activities• Children Task – Parent Task sub-activity• Leaf Task – Activity at the lowest level which does not contain sub-activity 7. Detailed information about a schedule task can be viewed in the Information dialog. To open it, select a task from the list and click the Task Information button8. The Information dialog will appear, displaying general task details, defined predecessors and successors, and other advanced options. 9. The Task Information dialog can also be opened by right-clicking on a selected task and choosing the corresponding option from the context menu10. The options + Generate Zones in Planner Canvas and + Add Task(s) to Planner Canvas are available only for Leaf Tasks. These options are part of the Takt Planning module, which provides a platform for location-based scheduling. For more information about Takt Planning, refer to the corresponding chapter in this manual11. Additional filtering options are available in the Filter menu, which can be accessed by right-clicking within the schedule view12. In an integrated 4D/5D BIM model, each schedule task is linked to specific model elements and cost items. To select the model elements associated with a selected task, click the Select Elements option 13. To undo or redo the last action, click the Undo or Redo buttons in the toolbar14. The Collapse All and Expand All buttons allow you to collapse or expand the entire schedule structure for easier navigation15. The Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons allow the user to adjust the scale of the Gantt chart for better visibility and navigation16. The Zoom to Fit button adjusts the Gantt chart view to fit the entire schedule within the current window size17. The Previous Time Span and Next Time Span buttons shift the Gantt chart view to the previous or next time period, allowing users to navigate the schedule timeline efficiently18. In the Options menu, the user can select which fields are displayed in the Gantt chart view19. Row Height and Bar Margin settings can be adjusted in the Settings menu20. To apply color coding to the Gantt chart based on Task Colors or Critical Path, select the desired option from the Coloring menu 21. By hovering the mouse cursor over the border between the table and the Gantt chart view, the user can click and drag to adjust the border position, resizing each section of the workspace as needed22. Each column in the Column Bar can be filtered and sorted in ascending or descending order by clicking the Filter button or the Arrow button within the column header. Additionally, right-clicking on the Column Bar opens a context menu with more advanced options for customizing the column display23. To choose which columns are visible in the table view, go to the Columns section and select or deselect the desired fields. By selecting the Hide Column command, the selected column will be removed from the table view24. To sort a column in ascending or descending order based on its values, click the corresponding sort option25. To sort multiple columns simultaneously, use the Multi Sorting option
