Document Set Creation (Transmittal) Estimated reading: 2 minutes Project documentation is uploaded and exchanged through the Documents module. However, as a fully integrated BIM solution, Bexel CDE allows linking documentation directly to elements. This is achieved through Document Sets (Transmittals). To link uploaded documentation to model elements and notify relevant project participants, follow the steps below: 1. In CDE Viewer isolate and select elements to be linked with documentation. Document set will save all visible elements, but the documentation will be linked only to selected elements2. Create a New Document Set by clicking New Issue button and choosing New Document Set option3. Define Document Set (Transmittal) Code (unique value required) and Document Set/Transmittal Name4. Define custom Tags (could be customized by the Project Administrator) and add Participants who will be able to access the Document Set and will be notified about changes in the Document Set/Transmittal 5. Add Description of Document Set/transmittal content and define additional Custom Fields that could be Set Up by the project Administrator6. Link documents to Document Set/Transmittal by activating Link Documents option and navigating to Files and/or Folders of documentation previously uploaded to Documents7. Choose either the Latest or Current document version. If Latest is selected, the document linked to the issue will always display the most up-to-date version available in the project. If Current is selected, the link will remain fixed to the specific version at the time of linking8. Complete action by clicking Link Selected Documents 9. Click Save to complete Document Set/Transmittal10. Use Comments section to communicate with participants. Files previously uploaded to Documents could be attached to messages for easier communication Note Latest Version option for linked document means that when a new version of that document is uploaded, it will be automatically linked in place of the current version in Document Set/transmittal. Current Version option will keep the current version of the document linked even if a new version is uploaded to Documents in the future. Latest Version is more commonly used in Document Set/Transmittal Workflows.
