BEXEL Manager – June 2025

Estimated reading: 9 minutes
Version: 25.5.4

API
  • A new pre-installed API script has been introduced for copying selected properties from the original element to its split counterparts. The script can be accessed via API Console → Scripts → Split Properties → Copy Parent Properties to Split Elements.

BCF

  • A new option has been introduced when creating a BCF Issue, allowing users to choose which components will be stored-selection, visibility, colors, and camera position. By default, all components are saved, but this can be customized by selecting options under the Viewpoint Types.
  • When creating a new BCF Issue, users are now able to fine-tune the scene and included components before finalizing. After clicking the + button, an initial snapshot is generated as a preview, while the final scene is captured only after the Create button is clicked-allowing adjustments to selection, visibility, color, and camera position in the meantime.

CDE Publisher

  • A new Schedule panel has been introduced on the BEXEL CDE, enabling read-only viewing of the Construction Schedule as a Gantt chart directly on cloud. If the panel is not visible, it can be activated via the Modules menu. When publishing a new model version or updating an existing one from BEXEL Manager, users can select one or more schedules in the wizard for inclusion on the CDE. All visible schedule columns in BEXEL Manager are transferred to the CDE. It is important to note that published schedules are linked to the entire project accessible across all project versions.
  • When publishing Clash Jobs to the CDE, color information for statuses and priorities is now included, enabling consistent color display within the CDE interface.
Clash Job publishing now also transfers statistics on the number of clash pairs by status and priority, allowing for summary tables to be shown on the CDE.
  • Updating of Clash Jobs on an existing CDE project version is now supported. Clash Jobs to be updated can be selected in the same way as for other sections, via the update wizard.
  • An option has been introduced during publishing to control whether properties created on the CDE are copied from the previous to the new version of the project. This setting is available in the Publish file options under Properties → Copy from previous CDE Project Version.
  • Publishing of a new version or updating an existing version from BEXEL Manager is now blocked while a previous publish or update process is still in progress. This restriction prevents users from launching multiple publishing processes in sequence, which could disrupt data transfer. If an active process is detected, the user will be notified and the new action will be disallowed.
  • Publishing of empty clash groups during the export of Clash Jobs to the CDE has been disabled.
The behavior of the CDE wizard form has been changed to ensure that the currently selected project in the BEXEL CDE tab is automatically preselected during publish operation.
  • An issue has been resolved where the ClashJobID was not properly saved within BEXEL Manager, which caused the system to incorrectly indicate that certain Clash Jobs were unpublished when reopening the application. For this fix to take full effect, the relevant Clash Jobs must be re-published or updated on the specific CDE project version.

Cost

  • An issue has been resolved where the Filter By Element Selection option in the Cost Estimate window did not display correct quantities in certain cases.
  • An issue has been fixed where the Quantity column in the Cost Estimate window occasionally showed no values for cost assignments when the Filter By Element Selection option was activated.

User Interface

  • General update and addition of translations for all languages.

General

  • An issue has been resolved where BEXEL Manager could crash when opening a project that was previously accessed in a different language version of the software (other than English).
  • An issue has been fixed where, after updating or opening another project without restarting BEXEL Manager, the Save option was unavailable and only Save As could be used. Additionally, when committing changes to TeamWorks after upgrading a project from an older version, the Save As dialog is now shown immediately instead of displaying only a warning message.

Geometry

  • An issue has been fixed where elements from a single source were not correctly positioned after creating a BEXEL Manager project if the models were rotated relative to True North.

Schedule

  • Task grouping within the Line of Balance (LOB) view has been enabled. Grouping is activated in the same way as for the Gantt chart, either by creating a new grouping or selecting an existing one from the toolbar. In addition to grouping, tasks can be filtered to hide those that should not be displayed in the LOB view. Filters are saved as part of the grouping template, and filtering is activated by right-clicking on the column or group header and selecting the Filter Column option.
  • A sorting option has been added within the column filter form in the Line of Balance (LOB) view (right-click on a column → Filter Column → use the arrow icons → OK). Same as the applied filter, the sorting preferences are retained as part of the currently active grouping template.
  • A new option has been introduced for defining a Quantity Formula used to generate quantities on tasks that are not linked to cost data.
This option is available in the Task Editor → General → Quantity Formula and can be activated only for leaf tasks.
Once a formula is defined, it becomes possible to enter progress for these tasks even without cost associations.
Related data is shown in the “Driving” column within the Gantt chart.
The Unit Cost can be modified either through the Activity tab in the Task Editor or directly via the Driving Unit Cost column.
  • A new Driving Activity Name column has been added to the Gantt chart, displaying the name (including Code and Name) of the activity generated through a Quantity Formula.
  • Export of Gantt chart columns to Excel has been improved, and importing values from Excel is now supported via Schedule Editor → Export → Export to Excel (Gantt Columns) and Schedule Editor → Import → From Excel…. Adding new columns directly from Excel is not supported – only values can be imported, and any new columns must first be created within BEXEL Manager. Import is allowed only when the schedule is not grouped. At this stage, editing or adding task relationships via Excel using Predecessor Row Index and Successor Row Index columns is not supported.
  • Progress data based on inputs from the Takt Planning tab, can now be imported from the BEXEL CDE into BEXEL Manager using: BEXEL CDE → Import → Import Progress from CDE option.
  • Exporting only the filtered tasks from the Gantt chart to PDF is now supported, allowing users to generate targeted reports based on any column filter.
  • Task sorting during export to PDF, Excel, and MS Project now reflects the same order as currently displayed in the Gantt chart, ensuring consistency across all outputs.
  • The input handling of all relation lag types has been improved across all areas of the software where lag values can be entered.
Task scaling and relation adjustments now ensure that Working Hours and Hours lag types are always represented as whole numbers. These lag types can only be entered as integers – any decimal input will be rounded down to the nearest whole number. For Days and Percentage lag types, input is supported with up to three decimal places.
Additionally, an issue has been fixed where lag values greater than 100 days could not be entered.
  • A new option has been introduced in the Cost Estimate, Cost Editor, and Schedule Editor windows for selecting only the leaf items that directly match the applied filter:
In the Cost Estimate window, the option is available via Select → Filtered Cost Items, accessible from both the toolbar and context menu.
In the Cost Editor window, it is available via Select → Filtered Cost Assignment, accessible from both the toolbar and context menu.
In the Schedule Editor (specifically in the Gantt chart), the option is available via Selection → Select Filtered Leaf Tasks, accessible from both the toolbar and context menu.
  • The Time Interval Filter previously available only within the Advanced Filter has been promoted to a higher-level interface element for easier access and use.
  • Cost Assignments whose all assignments have either Fixed Cost or Fixed Quantity will now retain those values even after model elements are removed.
  • Export of User Defined columns/properties from BEXEL Manager to Primavera P6 is now supported via Schedule Editor → Export → Export to Primavera P6.
  • Task copying between schedules has been optimized for faster performance.
  • Improved the Creation Wizard to ensure that only one relation is generated between any two tasks, even when skipping Methodology Items without attached Cost Items.
  • The behavior that caused the creation of an unnecessary default activity after using the “Remove Selected Elements” option on a task, has been corrected.
  • The XML Importer for P6 files has been updated to properly support files generated from Primavera P6 Cloud environments.
  • The initial size of the Referenced Objects and Task Link Rules Editor forms has been increased for better usability.
  • The Activity column in the Activities tab of the Task Editor has been expanded when only a single task is selected, providing better visibility for task details.

Property Checker

  • An issue has been resolved where conditions that had not been executed (i.e., with empty or zero values in “No. Checked Elements” and “No. Passed Elements”) were still incorrectly included in the success rate calculation. This behavior has been corrected, and the latest version of the add-in will be downloaded automatically upon the next launch of BEXEL Manager.

Quantity Visualizer

  • It is now predefined that switching from the View ribbon tab to any other tab will automatically deactivate the Quantity Visualization feature if it was active. This change addresses scenarios where users unintentionally left the option enabled, which could slow down element selection and trigger warnings when selecting elements with over 10,000 triangles.
  • An issue where Quantity Visualization remained enabled even when no project was loaded has been fixed. Previously, interacting with this feature in such cases could cause BEXEL Manager to crash.
  • An issue has been resolved where Quantity Visualization would not turn off when using the Choose Property dropdown.
