Estimated reading: 9 minutes
Released: April 2026

Viewer

  • Introduced a new high-performance viewer within the CDE, delivering a more responsive and efficient user experience.
    • Key improvements include:
      – Faster loading times and improved handling of large models.
      – Optimized data loading based on tilesets.
      – Local caching of previously loaded files (SettingsCache).
      – User-specific viewer settings that can be applied across projects.
    • For models published from BEXEL Manager 26.4.0.0 or later, users can choose between the New Viewer, Old Viewer, or both.
    • Models published with earlier versions will continue to use the legacy viewer by default until a new version is published using BEXEL Manager 26.4.0.0 or higher.
  • Key functionalities:
    • Undo/Redo support for visibility and selection actions.
    • Zoom-to-selection functionality using the middle mouse button.
    • Timeline controls for time-of-day simulation.
    • Perspective and orthographic view modes.
    • Control over element transparency.
    • Compass for navigation.
    • Real-time model offset (X, Y, Z and rotation).
    • Visual highlighting of hovered elements.
    • Marquee selection with two modes available. Marquee selection can be activated via toolbar or Ctrl + drag.
      – Partial Containment (left-to-right selection)
      – Full Containment (right-to-left selection)

BCF

  • Introduced Check Lists within the BCF Manager module.
    • The checklist workflow is based on the Approval with an assigned user responsible for completing the checklist. Once completed, the checklist can be approved or rejected.
    • A new Check List tab is now available in Settings, where users can view existing templates, edit them, or create new ones. When modifying an existing template that is already in use, a new version of the template is automatically created.
    • Checklists can be created from the New Issue menu by selecting New Check List, where users choose a template and complete the associated questions in a dedicated panel.
  • Introduced document and report signing functionality.
    • Users can now sign BCF reports and documents. Before using this feature, reviewers need to upload their signature via Profile → Signature, where signatures can be drawn, typed, or uploaded as an image, with options to adjust color and thickness.
    • Signing is available in two locations:
      – From the BCF window, when generating reports using selected templates (single or multiple)
      – From Document Approval / Approval, by right-clicking a linked document and selecting Download Signed Document (available for Excel files that are converted to PDF during download)
    • To display signatures in reports, templates must include signature tags such as FIRST_REVIEWERS[index]_SIGNATURE or FINAL_REVIEWERS[index]_SIGNATURE, typically placed alongside reviewer names.
    • Only reviewers who have approved the document will have their signatures displayed in the final output.
  • Participants can now be assigned using Project Roles.
    • The participant selection dropdown is divided into Roles and Users.
    • By selecting a role, all users assigned to that role on the project level are automatically added as participants to the issue. If a role is later removed from the project, it is also removed from all associated issues, and users will lose access unless they are explicitly assigned.
  • Introduced integration between 360 images and the model viewer.
    • 360 images can be added from the BCF window by selecting the New 360 Image option.
    • During creation, one or more panorama images shall be linked through the Documents tab. Images can be selected from existing Docs or uploaded from a local machine. Supported formats are .jpg and .jpeg, with a recommended 2:1 resolution ratio for optimal display.
    • Once created, the 360 Image can be opened by double-clicking the issue or by selecting Load 360 Image from the linked file. The 360 viewer is displayed alongside the standard model viewer and works with both the new and legacy viewer.
    • The viewer position can be aligned with the 360 images during setup and adjusted later using the Update Viewpoint option. Navigation is synchronized, meaning movement in the 360 viewer updates the position in the standard viewer.
  • Files can now be uploaded and linked directly to BCF Issues.
    • A dedicated folder is automatically created using the Issue Code and Issue Name for naming it. All participants are automatically granted appropriate access rights to this folder, allowing them to view or edit linked documents based on their roles.
  • Enabled support for up to 50 text and 15 list custom fields.
  • Fixed multiple issues related to BCF functionality, improving stability and overall workflow reliability. Key fixes include:
    • Fixed an issue where duplicate BCF Issue codes could be created.
    • Fixed an issue where BCF Reports failed when appending PDFs without linked documents.
    • Fixed an issue where snapshots and viewpoints were not generated for certain BCF types (Approval, Document Set, Discussion, Checklists).
    • Fixed an issue where linked documents could not be removed from the BCF Documents panel.
    • Fixed an issue where notification emails were not sent when adding comments to BCF Issues.
    • Fixed an issue where user information was lost on BCF Issues after removing users from a project.

BI Analytics

  • Expanded BI Analytics capabilities with broader data access and improved reporting options.
    • Task Custom Properties are now available in both single-project and multi-project BI reports.
    • BCF data is now available for reporting across single and multiple projects.
    • BI reports can now be generated for schedule data on a weekly and monthly basis.
      – When publishing schedules from BEXEL Manager, reports can be included via the Export BI Data option
      – New tables available: ScheduleReport, TaskInterval, and ReportType.
    • User and Project User collections can now be used in BI reports.
    • Elements in the viewer can be selected directly from BI visuals.
    • Enabled linking of CDE data sources (BCF, Schedule) with Model Explorer data source.
  • Added a new ‘Planner Link’ column that indicates whether a specific BCF Issue is linked within any Takt Planning canvas.
  • Access and Availability
    • BI Reports are now available to all users.
    • Project Administrators can access all data within their projects.
    • Account Administrators and users can access data from projects they are assigned to, based on their access permissions.

Clash Detection

  • Fixed an issue where the “Filter Selected” option was not working correctly.

Company Management

  • Enabled creation, editing, and deletion of companies and contacts at the account level.

Docs

  • Enabled role-based Access Rights assignment for files and folders.
    • Role-based access rights can now be assigned to roles through the Edit Access Rights dialog. All users assigned to a selected role will automatically inherit access to the file or folder, including users assigned to that role at the project level.
    • If a user has both role-based and explicitly assigned permissions, user-specific access rights take priority.
    • Additionally, access rights can now be edited directly without the need to remove and recreate permissions.
  • Files can now be uploaded and linked directly to BCF Issues.
    • A dedicated folder is automatically created using the Issue Code and Issue Name for naming it. All participants are automatically granted appropriate access rights to this folder, allowing them to view or edit linked documents based on their roles.
  • Improved upload and download performance, especially for slower internet connections. Also, enabled faster download of multiple files and folders without waiting for the archive to be prepared.
  • Added the option to replace files on both desktop and mobile versions.
  • Added a new viewer for previewing images directly in the browser, with support for zooming and rotation.
  • Fixed an issue where document status was not refreshed after creating or editing Document Approvals.
  • Fixed an issue where PDF file names were incorrect in preview and download.
File names are now displayed correctly when opening PDFs in preview and when downloading them using the Save option. This applies to PDFs generated by the system (such as Docs preview, BCF Reports, and DWG previews). For user-uploaded PDFs, file names depend on the metadata defined within the file and may still vary

Mobile

  • Fixed an issue where creating BCF Issues caused errors on mobile devices.

Properties

  • Fixed an issue where View Property Values and Selected By Property Value options were not working correctly in the Properties window in some cases.

QTO/CBS

  • Enabled display of units for QTO items created in CDE within columns, along with additional details such as PSet, Unit, and Type when configuring quantities.
  • Enabled editing of existing QTO and CBS trees created from CDE (not available for Version Comparison).

Reports

  • Fixed an issue where deleting reports caused an error.

Roles

  • Introduced a new Project Roles concept, enabling more flexible and structured access control.
    • Users can now be assigned multiple roles within a project, with each role defining access rights per section.
    • When multiple roles are assigned, access rights are aggregated per section, with the highest level of access applied. The resulting permissions are visible in the Access Rights table but cannot be modified directly.
    • It is also possible to explicitly define access rights for a user on a specific section by selecting the desired role via the Access Rights interface.
    • Project Roles can be used when assigning access rights within Docs and BCF (Participants) sections.
  • The previous Project Role field in Users has been renamed to Project Title.
    • This change clarifies that the field was never used for access control, but served for display purposes only. The renaming helps avoid confusion with the newly introduced Project Roles feature, which is used for managing permissions.

Schedule

  • Column visibility and order are now preserved and can be saved.
  • Fixed an issue where schedule grouping was not applied after reload.
  • Fixed an issue where constraint “None” was not applied correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where schedule updates failed when working with large datasets.

Takt Planning

  • Added a button to reset changes made in the Planner module.
  • Tasks and segments can no longer be dragged beyond the last completed entry date.

User Interface

  • Enhanced the overall appearance of the CDE portal with updated themes and a unified icon set.
    • The portal now offers over 10 themes, including both light and dark variations, allowing for greater personalization. Themes can be easily switched from the toolbar.
