BI Analytics

The BI Analytics module in BEXEL CDE enables users to create fully interactive BIM dashboards directly within the platform. Reports can be generated and customized using data from supported domains such as Model Properties, Clash Detection, and BCF. The module can be accessed via Modules → BI Analytics. Dashboards are designed through the Edit in Designer interface, which offers configuration options similar to popular BI tools like Microsoft Power BI. Administrators can also create multi-project and multi-version BCF dashboards directly from the project list home page.

1. Navigate to the BI Analytics module to view project data presented in various BI dashboards

2. The list of predefined dashboards is visible on the left-hand side

3. When a dashboard is selected from the list, the corresponding data fields are shown on the right. Each predefined dashboard contains different data fields, which are populated based on project data and information from other CDE modules

4. You can create a new dashboard or edit existing ones by clicking the Edit in Designer button in the lower-left corner

Note

The dashboards will remain empty if the project does not contain the required data for a specific dashboard.

5. In the Edit toolbox, you can easily insert new charts, grids, text boxes, images, maps, and other dashboard components by selecting the corresponding icons from the toolbox

9. When in Edit Dashboard mode, the Quick Edit menu appears on the right side of an item when you hover over it. From this menu, you can easily apply new data to the selected item, filter data, adjust interactivity settings, edit visualization options, or convert the chart to another type

10. The BI Dashboards are interactive with the BIM model. By selecting model elements in the viewer, you can filter the dashboard data by clicking the Filter Selected button. To reload the dashboard, click the Reload button

11. Dashboards can be exported as an image, Excel, or PDF file by selecting the desired option after clicking the Export To button

12. Click the three-line button at the top of the Edit menu to open the Dashboard menu

13. To create a new dashboard from scratch, click the New button

14. Enter a name for the new dashboard, select the data source, and click the Create button to generate the new dashboard

15. You have full control over the dashboard layout and data fields, which can be easily added by dragging and dropping items from the Edit toolbox

16. Dashboards created in one project can be saved and reused in another project, helping you save time and maintain consistency

17. New data sources can be added to the dashboard by clicking the Data Sources button in the Dashboard menu

18. Click the Add button to open the Add Data Source menu, where you can either select an existing source from the list or create a new one by choosing the Create Data Source option
