Selection Sets Estimated reading: 2 minutes Selection Sets are predefined groups of model elements that are saved for easy access and reuse. They allow users to quickly select specific components, such as all doors, walls, or structural elements, based on criteria like category, property values, or location. In BEXEL CDE, you can access Selection Sets through the Selection Sets module. 1. Selection Sets defined in the CDE project can be viewed in the Selection Sets module. Selection Sets can be organized into folders for easier management and navigation2. To create a new Selection Set, the user can either click the + button or right-click within the Selection Set list and choose New Selection Set3. In the Add Selection Set window, the user can view the Selection Set Path and the number of selected model elements and specify the Name and Description of the new Selection Set. Click OK to create a new Selection set Note Model elements must be selected in the Viewer before creating a new Selection Set. 4. Similar to creating Selection Sets, Selection Set Folders can be created by either clicking the + button or right-clicking within the Selection Set list and choosing New Selection Set Folder5. In the Add Folder window, the user can view the Folder Path and enter the Name and Description of the new Selection Set Folder. Click OK to create the folder6. To delete a Selection Set or Selection Set Folder, right-click on the item and select the Delete option from the context menu. A confirmation window will appear, warning the user that the Selection Set will be permanently deleted 7. Toggling the Selection ON button will select the model elements included in the selected Selection Set from the list8. In the Search field, the user can enter text to filter and display only the Selection Sets that match the search term9. Filter property sets by clicking the Filter button Note If a Selection Set contains model elements that are not loaded in the 3D Viewer, toggling the Selection ON button will not highlight any elements. 10. To Add or Remove selected elements to Selection Set, first right-click the desired Selection Set 11. In the context menu select Add/Remove Elements, then click Include Selected Elements to add the currently selected model elements to the Selection Set12. To exclude the selected model elements from a Selection Set, choose the Exclude Selected Elements option from the context menu
