Managing Quantity takeoffs Estimated reading: 3 minutes 369 views Creating quantity takeoff folder structure To create a new folder, use the command New Folder → Define the folder name in the Add Folder window → Finish the process by clicking OK. When a new folder is created, it can be found on the left side of the QTO module. A new folder is empty and colored in grey. Created quantity takeoff breakdowns can be organized in specific folders even after creation. Organizing quantity takeoffs tabs The right side of the Quantity Takeoff module contains the overview of already created quantity takeoffs.To organize created quantity takeoff tabs, click Organize Takeoff → Select the QTO to move → Click on the Arrow to move it up or down.Use checkboxes or Check All and Uncheck All to choose the quantity takeoffs to display. Click OK to finish the process. Selecting elements from the Quantity takeoff Any element or group of elements can be selected and isolated in the Perspective view to precisely review the group with the specified attribute value.Click on the created QTO on the right side of the Quantity Takeoff module → Select the position in the breakdown structure of certain QTO → Click Selection → From the drop-down list, choose Select elements. For automatically selecting elements from the QTO position, mark the checkbox for Auto-Selected from Takeoff. To activate this option, click the Selection button in the Quantity Takeoff module → Check the Auto-Select from Takeoff option. Editing quantity takeoff Select the created quantity takeoff from the list → Click Edit → The Edit Quantity Takeoff window will open → Click Reset Tree → Select the existing rule → Select Remove to remove the rule → Add new rules by using Add Breakdown Rule. Right-click and choose Edit from the drop-down menu to change the selected quantity takeoff. Removing elements from quantity takeoff To remove elements directly from quantity takeoff, select the created quantity takeoff from the list → Click Selection → From the drop-down list, select Remove Elements from Takeoff → Choose Selected in Takeoff. The option Remove Elements from Takeoff in the drop-down list displayed by right-clicking on the position in quantity takeoff is the same as Remove Elements from Takeoff, Selected in Takeoff, within the Selection drop-down list. To remove elements from quantity takeoff using a selection from the Perspective view select elements for exclusion → Click Selection → From the drop-down list, select Remove Elements from Takeoff → Choose Selected in Viewports. After removing elements from quantity takeoff, its name gets the extension: Name (Selection). Deleting quantity takeoff Select the created quantity takeoff from the list → Right-click on chosen quantity takeoff → From the drop-down list, choose Delete. Quantity takeoff can be deleted by clicking Delete located in the toolbar in the Palette window.
