BEXEL Manager is not an authoring tool, meaning the model’s geometry cannot be changed. Model’s appearance can be changed by adding colors and texture.
Adding colors
When the model is imported, it can appear grey if no colors were added in the authoring tool. A few options can be used to add colors in Bexel Manager within the Manage tab and the Element Colors command, Reset to Last Saved Colors, Reset to Default Colors, and Reset to Source Colors.
Reset to Last Saved Colors command
This command is used to reset the model’s colors to the last saved colors in the software. Follow the process below to color a model to the last saved colors:
Activate the Manage tab → Afterwards, click on the arrow beside the Element Colors command → In the drop-down menu, choose the option Reset to Last Saved Colors.
Reset to Default Colors command
This command is used to reset the model’s colors to the software’s default color palette. To color, a model to default colors, follow the process below:
Activate the Manage tab → Afterwards, click on the arrow beside the Element Colors command → In the drop-down menu, choose the option Reset to Default Colors.
Default colors can be edited in BEXEL Manager, exported as a Binary file format, and imported on another project. These options are available by clicking on the Element Colors command within the Manage tab. All options are available within Element Colors window in the Options window.
Reset to Source Colors command
Reset to Source Colors command is used to reset the model’s colors according to the materials and colors specified in the authoring tool.
Activate the Manage tab → Afterwards, click on the arrow beside the Element Colors command → In the drop-down menu, choose the option Reset to Source Colors.
Model texturing
Textures can be manually applied in BEXEL Manager to selected model elements or specific families/categories.
Select the elements to apply the texture on → Select the Manage tab → Click the Texture Editor button → Select the Project folder in the Textures and Mappings list → Click the Add Texture button → Select the desired texture and in the Add Texture window, name the file → Click the Add Mapping button → Define the material name, tile, and mapping mode and confirm the selection → Complete the procedure by clicking the OK button.
